BIOGRAPHY


Réjean Hébert, MD, MSc, MPhil

Dr. Réjean Hébert is the Dean of the Université de Sherbrooke Faculty of Medicine and Health Science and a full professor in the Department of Family Medicine. A national Fonds de la recherche en santé du Québec (FRSQ) research scholar, Professor Hébert is also a member of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences.

His work focuses on evaluative and epidemiological research in Geronotology and Geriatrics, integrated services for frail older persons, the epidemiology of dementia and intervention with the families of patients with dementia. In 1988, he founded the Institut universitaire de gériatrie de Sherbrooke Research Centre on Aging, which he directed until 2001. He was also the founder and director of the Quebec Network for Research on Aging. After completing his medical training in Geriatrics, Dr. Hébert earned a M.Sc. in Gerontology from the Université des sciences sociales de Grenoble and a M.Phil. in Epidemiology from the University of Cambridge.
